Danielle Smith

Compass Marketing & Advertising Partners announced it has added Danielle Smith to join its team as a marketing and media assistant. Smith began her career as a copy editor at the Topeka Capital-Journal before joining the Washburn University Alumni Association and Foundation as graphics and marketing specialist. She was a member of IABC Topeka and worked on the Alumni Association membership rebranding project that earned two Gold District VI CASE Awards in the Alumni Relations Improvement and Communications Improvement categories in 2021. In October 2022, Smith started D Smith Designs LLC. Smith graduated with a bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations from Kansas State University. She is married to Tanner Smith and they have two children. “We are very excited to have Danielle join our team. She brings a high level of skills and enthusiasm that will help take our clients to the next level,” said Tim Kolling, partner and marketing/media strategist.

Noah Madryga

Noah Madryga has joined Shawnee County Parks + Recreation as sports event manager. Madryga will work with tournament organizers and with Visit Topeka to attract baseball and softball tournaments and other sporting events to Shawnee County. In 2022, softball and baseball tournaments at SCP+R facilities generated $6.7 million in economic impact and activity in Shawnee County. Madryga has a degree in athletic training from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. He is a native of Kitchener, Ontario.

Stephanie Norwood

the Greater Topeka Partnership and GO Topeka announced Stephanie Norwood has been named GO Topeka’s director of entrepreneurship and small business. Norwood steps into the role after serving for more than three years as The Partnership’s director of events. Norwood succeeded Laurie Pieper, who recently accepted the position of assistant state director for Kansas’ Small Business Development Center. Norwood was hired for the role following a competitive application and interview process. She is in the process of transitioning into the position and will serve on GO Topeka’s innovation and entrepreneurship team. “Stephanie was the perfect candidate for this position,” said Stephanie Moran, GO Topeka’s senior vice president of innovation. “Her experience organizing incredible events and programming for the community set her apart, and I know she’ll do amazing things for Topeka and Shawnee County small businesses.” “I’m honored to accept this position and look forward to connecting more deeply with some of the area’s innovative thinkers and business leaders,” Norwood said. “It’s exciting to be part of the GO Topeka team helping our business community grow and thrive.”
