Defying skeptics who maintained there was “no such thing as e-health,” Elizabeth Murray, who has died from cancer, founded the trailblazing University College London (UCL) eHealth unit in 2003. Described by one colleague as “a formidable force for good ,” Murray, who became professor of eHealth and primary care in 2013, led the unit which was to become one of the foremost in the world, creating highly successful digital interventions for people with diabetes, covid-19, alcoholism, and many other conditions .
